Without processing, jade could look no different from common stone, but the seasoned craftsman can tell whether a piece of stone contains jade in it. However, making the stone to the wanted shape is no easy job. It is no surprise that some fancy works may take years to finish.

First, select a special kind of red sand.
Second, disassemble the original stone with bow-shape tool.
Third, use a grinding the wheel and red sand to form the raw shape.
Fourth, polish with cloth or hand.
